Representatives within Gulf Coast Kid's House work collaboratively to provide a comprehensive and child-centered response to child abuse cases.
Our primary focus is ensuring that children who are victims of abuse will not be traumatized by the intervention system that is intended to help and protect them. Gulf Coast Kid’s House has a multidisciplinary team consisting of many agencies.
The Escambia County Sheriff's Office and Pensacola Police Department investigate and collect evidence, interview suspects and witnesses, prepare arrest warrants, and attend and testify in court.
Committed to the well-being of children and their families, they receive and investigate reports and allegations of child abuse.
Conducts child forensic interviews, specialized interviews with non-offending family members, medical exams, and psychosocial assessments for victims and families.
Review case information, file formal charges, interview victims and non-offending caretakers, attend/conduct depositions, discuss the case with the defense attorney and judge, and prepare and prosecute cases to resolution.
Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is a non-profit that helps Florida communities build healthier, happier, and hope-filled futures.
LSF assists Gulf Coast Kid's House with mental health treatment for child victims, siblings, and non-offending caretakers of physically and sexually abused children. Provides crisis intervention, including suicide risk assessment and referrals.
