Professional Development Training for Child Welfare Professionals to better support LGBTQIA Youth
LGBTQIA+ youth enter the child welfare system for reasons like those of other children and studies indicate that they are more likely than their peers to face discrimination and violence.
With funding from Sunday’s Child, Gulf Coast Kid’s House worked with Equality Florida and Counsel & Connect to develop our Know Bias training. This training is in three modules, with each module taking approximately an hour to complete. Anyone working with children is encouraged to take this training to learn how to provide safe, respectful and affirming care for LGBTQIA+ youth.
